Royal Caribbean ships are the most popular and most sought after by passengers in the cruising industry. These ships are not only gigantic, but they are also equipped for the best on-board experience possible for their passengers.
All Royal Caribbean ships feature the top of the line Viking Crown Lounge that offers passengers panoramic views of the ocean with impressive on-board rock climbing walls for the adventure enthusiasts. Bars, lounges, spas, and gyms are also standard ship amenities.
Royal Caribbean ships are divided into 6 classes as follows: Oasis class, Freedom class, Voyager Class, Radiance Class, Vision Class, and Sovereign Class.
Sovereign class is the first class of ships that Royal Caribbean introduced in the late 1980s and paved the way for the mega ships of today. Monarch of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas are the two ships under this class. These ships were refitted in 2005 and 2007 respectively, giving them a more modern feel and enhanced comforts.
The Vision class includes the ships Legend of the Seas, Splendour of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas, and Vision of the Seas. All of these ships feature a magnificent 8,100 square meters of glass.
Radiance class includes the ships Radiance of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, and Jewel of the Seas which share the same feature of over 12,000 square meters of glass, glass exterior viewing elevators, and two-level glass windowed dining rooms and alternative restaurants. Even the pools have retractable glass roofs. Billiard enthusiast will be happy to know that these ships are fully equipped with self-leveling billiards tables.
Voyager class includes the ships Voyager of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, and Mariner of the Seas. The ships in this class feature the Royal Promenade – a 110 meter indoor mall. Basketball courts, a mini golf course, at least 3 pools and skating rinks are typical attributes of this class.
The Freedom class includes the ships Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, and Independence of the Seas that all feature the top of the line Flowrider and H20 Zone for children as one of their main attractions.
