Cruise Deals to the Caribbean – Useful Tricks to Save You Money

How can you find Caribbean cruise deals that will cost you less money in the long run? It’s simple. First, you should follow these simple guidelines. Second, you can read other tips by checking the Cruising Tips category on the right side of this page.

1. Always reserve inside cabins – Inside cabins are the lowest priced option. Why do you need a window if all you will do in the room is sleep? Here is another little tip about cabin assignments. On one Carnival cruise I took, they had an option where you could delay your cabin assignment until it was time to board. The idea is that you can possibly get an upgrade, depending on availability. In this case, I paid for the lowest priced cabin and ended up with a larger room that had a nice, large window (not a port hole, a window).

2. Create your own excursions – Excursions can be a great part of cruise travel, but they can also be expensive. In addition, you are stuck with their schedule and sometimes certain segments of an excursion can be tedious and boring. You may have to wait for members of the large group from the ship, for example. To solve this, you can get a guidebook or search online and figure out your own excursions. Imagine how much more of an adventure it will be if you design it yourself. Just make sure you plan to be back at the dock well before the ship is due to depart.

3. Avoid buying alcohol and soft drinks on the cruise – Drinks onboard can be very expensive. Some people who really enjoy alcoholic drinks will find clever ways to bring booze from home. For example, for clear beverages, I’ve heard of using large, empty Scope bottles. When it comes to soft drinks, drink water or free lemonade. However, if you really must have soft drinks, you should buy the unlimited package deal.

4. When checking for cruise deals, you should shop around – Don’t just use one online site. You should check many sites, including the cruise line sites. As a side note, be sure to check the ratings of the cruise lines to see if they rank high in the areas most important to you. You can check ratings here:  Cruise Line Ratings

These tips can help you save some money on your next cruise. All it takes is a little bit of research and determination to find a bargain and have a great cruise vacation.
