Carnival Imagination – Cruise Ship Review

Below is a review of the Carnival Imagination submitted to me by a fellow cruiser. If you like what she has to say, you may want to try the ship out for yourself.

With the recent refurbishment efforts of Carnival amounting to millions of US dollars, we decided to give one of their ships a try. My husband and I, together with our 12 year old twins, sailed with Carnival Imagination on its 5 day/4 night cruise from Miami to Cozumel. We could not have made a much better decision. It was a good value for our money and more! Certainly, one of the best Caribbean cruise deals there is.

Carnival Imagination is the perfect ship for family cruising. It is child friendly without sacrificing the relaxed and quiet atmosphere that adults crave for during vacation.

We booked a standard ocean view room. The bed was comfortable, the room was not cramped, and we could stretch in the bathroom!

The ship has a fantastic children’s water park, as well as, a Camp Carnival kids’ program where our children spent most of their time having fun. We enjoyed the cruise on-board without having to deal with bored and restless kids. While the children were horsing around in the water park, we sat back and relaxed in the adults’ serenity area and enjoyed the zen like atmosphere it offers.

Entertainment was also good. My family loves stand up and appreciate the fact that Carnival Imagination has comedy acts that cater to all age levels. It has a wholesome comedy act for the main event that was suitable for the whole family. If you want a more uncensored version, you can wait until about midnight for their adults only comedy act.

We can’t complain on the food either. The dining room was constantly cleaned and kept tidy while the food remained fresh and plentiful. The wait staff didn’t need to be told. It seemed like they knew what we needed and they provided it for us.

The entire staff was attentive and little details such as towels, ice, toiletries, etc. in our cabin are constantly replenished. Other cruise line’s staff can certainly learn from them.

All in all our Carnival Imagination experience was wonderful (although, it could have been better if the ship had a much bigger pool).

  1. What is the salary on Carnival Imagination for position
    assistent waiter?

  2. Hello,

I honestly don’t know the salaries for positions on-board the ships. If you go to the Carnival site and locate their employment link, you can probably get an idea. For waiters, I believe you get a modest salary, but then you also receive tips from the cruisers.
